Soldiers Fest 2011 at the Dennison Depot will be hosting Ed Bearss as a speaker. A former Chief Historian for the National Park Service, and winner of the Harry S. Truman Award and the Nevins Freeman Award for Civil War scholarship. He supervised the raising of the Ironclad Cairo, now on display at Vicksburg National Military Park. He has written over a dozen books, numerous articles, and is the editor of Gettysburg Magazine. Mr. Bearss is a combat veteran of the Pacific Theater during the Second World War. Ed will be speaking at three different times on the Civil War and on his own experiences in WWII. Come to the Soldiers Fest June 24, 25, 26 to hear him and many other great speakers!
